Sweet treats
Confectionery with whole milk chocolate also contains lactose. To make it possible for lactose intolerant people to enjoy chocolate confectionery despite this, the range was expanded in 2011 to include delicious, lactose-free biscuits, Mignons and whole milk chocolate.

There has been great demand for lactose-free hazelnut cream for some years. As quality is very important to us, the development of the MinusL Hazelnut cream took an entire year. Only then were we 100% satisfied with the product and brought it to market.

MinusL is the lactose-free brand from OMIRA.
OMIRA IN RAVENSBURG
OMIRA was founded in 1929. At first the emphasis at OMIRA was placed on producing butter. In keeping with this, the buttermaking process for the continuous production of sweet-cream butter was already developed by Dr Fritz back in 1941. This method is still being utilised for butter production to this day. In 1999 OMIRA entered into a co-operation with the Neuburger Milchwerke dairy in Neuburg an der Donau. This enabled OMIRA to expand its product range by adding many long-life dairy products and desserts. Together with the dairy now operating as Neuburger Milchwerke GmbH, the OMIRA Group currently processes around 831.9m kg of milk from roughly 2,400 milk producers each year.
THE OMIRA MILK PRODUCERS
Our goal is to offer our customers high-quality dairy products that come from our dairy farmers’ milk. Products that originate in their homeland – the region customers can identify with. OMIRA belongs to around 2,600 milk producers from the Lake Constance, Black Forest, Swabian Alb, Allgäu and Voralberg regions, as well as to producers from different regions in the heart of Bavaria. Each farm owns an average 40 to 50 cows, which are fed using the farms’ own fodder stemming from pasturelands and cultivated feed-crop production, supplemented by concentrated feedstuffs. Quality stands first and foremost.
THE LACTOSE-FREE MinusL BRAND
The lactose-free MinusL brand was brought to life in 2001.
For MinusL products the milk sugar, lactose, is broken down via a special process so that the product merely contains a lactose content measuring less than 0.1 g / 100 g. As a result people with a lactose intolerance no longer have to refrain from milk and dairy products. With over 65 lactose-free products on hand, MinusL currently offers you a wide variety of high-quality foods & beverages.
OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
At OMIRA, the highest priority is on quality. Our plants in Ravensburg and Neuburg an der Donau are certified in compliance with the IFS Food standard. Some products are also certified as kosher, halal and “QS” (German for quality assurance). Our high quality standards are attested to by independent auditors on an ongoing basis. We attach a great deal of importance to production that preserves the environment and conserves resources. That’s why our two plant facilities have been certified in compliance with ISO 50001:2011 for Energy Management since May 2013. OMIRA hereby advocates dealing responsibly with energy as a valuable resource. A large number of our products have been awarded prizes resulting from quality auditing by DLG, the German Agricultural Society. Extensive analyses in the lab and in sensor technology formed the focus of this testing by experts.
